Lisa Yvette Linder
In her current position as Senior Director of New Media & Digital Strategy for Universal Motown/Universal Republic Records in New York City, music industry veteran Lisa Linder provides oversight for Pop, Rock and Alternative new media marketing for both labels. Her roster includes a wide variety of established and newly-emerging artists including 10 Years, 3 Doors Down, Alter Bridge, Godsmack, Blue October, Hinder, Anberlin, JoJo, DJ Shadow, Michael MacDonald, Razorlight, The Rapture, Vanessa Carlton, The Who and many, many more.
Ms. Linder joined Universal in March 2006 as Director of New Media & Digital Strategy after serving for more than two years (December 2003 - January 2006) as Director of Online Marketing for Columbia Records New Media department, a division of Sony BMG Music Entertainment. While at Columbia, she was responsible for the creation and production of artist's websites and projects, working with a variety of artists, management and staff to maximize artist exposure utilizing online media. During her tenure at Sony BMG, Ms. Linder secured promotional participation with a range of top tier partners including AOL, Yahoo!, Viacom (MTV, VH1, CMT, etc.), Fuse.tv and many more.
Ms. Linder entered the music industry in January 1995 as an administrative assistant for Sony Music Distribution's Branch Automation department, a post she held until joining the Columbia Records Publicity department as press coordinator in June 1997. During her tenure with Columbia Publicity, Ms. Linder worked directly with such artists and management as Tony Bennett, Switchfoot, Mariah Carey, Destiny's Child, The Fugees, Nas, Michael Bolton, Roger Waters, Pink Floyd, Neil Diamond, Marc Anthony, Aerosmith, the Dixie Chicks, System Of A Down, Slayer, Alice In Chains and many more; coordinated industry events ranging from in-store and television appearances to record release parties and receptions. In addition, she provided oversight for artist imaging ranging from publicity photo shoots to makeup and stylists.
In April 2000, Ms. Linder moved into the Columbia Records Online Publicity department, first as manager and, in December 2001, as Associate Director.
Prior to her tenure in the music business, Ms. Linder entered the fashion industry, holding a series of positions at Abraham & Strauss, a division of Federated Department Stores, rising quickly through the ranks from associate buyer to a position on the executive management team. Ms. Linder left Abraham & Strauss in January 1993 to become Sales & Production Coordinator for Renny, a division of Oxford Industries.
Majoring in Marketing/Retail, Lisa Linder graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science degree in May 1991.
